The Opening 03:36
It’s the opening of the seventh seal I’m tapping Freré Jacques on a glockenspiel Whilst this ball of dust keeps spinning by itself It seems the drawbridge never got shut Now there’s hammers and sickles on art attack and Orwell’s throwing his coffee at the screen Tell me who’s behind the curtain pulling strings? I’m having a hard time understanding things I got my ear to the ground but no one’s talking my ear to the ground but no one’s talking sense So we’re trying to find the bad guys and put them away but isn’t everyone a sinner on judgement day ? good and evil slicing through the heart Is the unpopular opinion always wrong ? Well I can’t think with this noise going on! Give me 5 baby, I’ll get back to you Does truth mean anything anymore? If you speak with conviction do you get to ignore all the other different points of view? The people talking over you Well I think this, and you should too ok, I think we get it. Well I know I’m not any wiser but where’s the fun in knowing all the answers?

Oh Mother! 03:18
How’s the weather near where you are? Natural disaster? how bizarre Oh Mother ! Sending signals with all her might Show a generation the real box office fight Oh Mother ! Dry your fake tears, pretend everything’s alright The bearded man is waiting with a couple of beers, ready to share his irrelevant insight “Begin with the self, to affect real change” The ancestors of murderers living up their name, screaming “Everyman for himself!” except this time, We’re our own worst enemy Fact from fiction, wood from the tree In a world venerating virtual reality Oh Brother! Tell me how are you coping masking your fear? If you close your eyes hard enough do the bad things disappear ? Oh Mother! Dry your fake tears, pretend everything’s alright The bearded man is waiting with a couple of beers, ready to share his irrelevant insight “Begin with the self, to affect real change” The ancestors of murderers living up their name, screaming “Everyman for himself!” except this time, It’s us against ourselves

Left to my own devices
I’m a messy, mortal man
But I’ll keep clipping at my vices, just to see if I can understand What made me this way?
Why do I feel that people ought to listen to what i say? What made me this way?
Why can’t i stand a simple well intentioned cliche? like “just be your self” I don’t even know what that means ! When stripped away from our status, aren’t we all more or less the same?
consumed by lust and greed, and if God is dead then who else can we blame? For what made us this way? Seeking inner validation from a cyber display What made us this way? always grotesquely idolising the young protege Don’t you know, fame kills !!!

Wrong Man? 03:05
You’re trying to get past my tricks and sense, Defence mechanisms to hold you at arms length But like an actor who’s always in role, To give up the part would be loosing the whole of me What’re you hiding from? We’d be here all week if I had to explain ! My half empty glass filled with fear, angst, and shame I twitch in my sleep Walk in nature and weep Maybe you’ve got the wrong man? You persist with a curious tone Sinking your teeth in the unturned stone I said I’d show you mine if you show me yours? We’d be two crazies flexing their lovable flaws What’re you hiding from? We’d be here all week if I had to explain ! My half empty glass filled with fear, angst, and shame I twitch in my sleep Walk in nature and weep We’d be here all week if I had to explain ! My half empty glass filled with fear, angst, and shame I write bombastic lines, but can’t speak half the time I think you’ve got the wrong man!!

So I’m still wondering if age and wisdom always go hand in hand ? I wanna do it all, So I sign up for my freedom with my eyes closed Oblivious to the fall Now Captain Hindsight’s here He’s telling me what I should’ve done, I would’ve done, I could’ve done If I only knew back then He’s chipping away in my ear, but why should I weep over parts of life, when the whole of it calls for tears? Don’t we all die, with much of things we wanted to do left on the side? Do you want the blue pill, or red, to show you all the other lives you could’ve had? the thank yous left unsaid Now Captain Hindsight’s here He’s telling you what You should’ve done, you would’ve done, you could’ve done If you only knew back then He’s chipping away in your ear, but why should you weep over parts of life, when the whole of it calls for tears? Now Captain Hindsight’s here He’s telling you what You should’ve done, you would’ve done, you could’ve done If you only knew back then He’s chipping away in your ear, but why should you weep over parts of life, when the whole of it calls for tears?

Sometimes it feels like the gift of love Is reserved only for a few of us The glamour on the big screen An ideal to harsh to achieve But everyone deserves to be loved Someone to hold us when it’s got too much Those empathetic eyes that tell you “you’re not alone” ooo I feel it too, We’re human me and you If there’s a reason to all hold hands It’s for the pain of existence in this unforgiving land There’s crowds of lonely people all trying to scratch the same itch But everyone deserves to be loved Being alive is already hard enough A look of understanding, worth all it’s weight in gold Ooo I feel it too, We’re human me and you (X2)
